Based on all that, here are a few ideas for the in-wall cubby holes for the bathroom. Not really liking anything here yet, because I don't know exactly what I want. Plus I thin kthe whole room needs a design before the wall can be decided upon.
I saw these arcade cabinet cartridges and thought of turning them into spaceships.
Another Japanese-inspired robot. Next iteration will make it a little more... amped up, I suppose. Definitely want to make the head more streamlined.
New pics! Well, old pics. 10 year old pics, actually, I'm trimming through the old books an picking out things that might be interesting.
This V-Wing is kinda badass, the legs probably need to go, but following the lines, giving it some plating, could be interesting. Reminds me a little of Kylo Ren's ship, but... armoured like a tank.
Kind of seeing an armoured face in the center, some vents on the underside...
This weird lobster looking part... I don't have a ship to attach this to, but I kinda dig it. It feels very early 2000s, but in a good way. Maybe it's the android's ship for Iron Star, I don't know.
This weird brick ship.
Kind of a mix between a blackbird and an imperial cruiser.
Passenger ship, I imagine it looks like an airplane inside. Thinking the wings might move, have turbines jutting out, I don't know.
A half-disc looking ship. It's actually weird how many of these feel like they could fit into Star Wars, it's a coincidence, I'm sure.
Speaking of jackets, here's another one. Inspired by an elder bug.
And some brutalist doodles I did. I saw a real low res image of a train shed and it looked straight, like a zigzag, so I tried to draw it that way. Maybe there's something there for Iron Star or something in that design motif.
Was watching everyone on my plane watching their phones, and started playing around with new options for the pocket screens in Iron Star. Then it was time to buy alcohol, and the portable payment device they used seemed perfect for the Iron Star, given how they treat the inmates like product.
Some icon ideas.
I have more stuff incoming in the next few days. I explored this very cool showroom in Murano of blown glass art and filled pages with doodles.
Visited the island of Burano and was taken on a tour of the glass blowing factory and showroom. Did a few pages of drawings of the incredible sculptures on display. I thought that some of the patterns, shapes, and colours could be fun to integrate into some of my designs.
I have a few more but I'm not "done" with them yet. And a few little sketches of textures.
A more traditional... well, let's say a more western robot than the type I normally do. Doodled while watching Replicas, not very true to 435 or whatever the robot was called. I think I'll play with these lines a bit more, create some new limbs for him... turn him into something new.
More doodles from watching that movie, the brain scan drive and playing around with a monitor thing.
Toying around with sidearms for the Iron Star officers. Nothing feels quite right, they're either too small or too big. I do like that they're modular.
The main weapon I imagine them using isn't even a gun, it's more of a sonic wave machine, a bit like the one in Minority Report. You can adjust the range and intensity, to allow for crowd control or hitting an individual target.
Retro style chair ideas... for a retro style ship. Maybe for whatever I do for The Black Hole.
So I was looking through my external drive and I found my references for a ship called the FMSV Righteous Fury, for a project called Shootingstars. And for all the things I wrote down, for things like their alphabet and number system, their lingo (they use a base-12 counting system so they say things like "dozen dozen!") and all that... I forgot to write down what FMSV stands for!
I assume it's Full Military Service Vehicle, but I also know that there was another one pre-dating their world's military takeover that used a different set of initials, but I don't recall what they were.
I was trying to evoke Ezekial 25:17 but got it wrong because z) I'm not Christian and b) I hadn't seen that movie in forever.
Now having said that, your post totally made me imagine a mix of, like, The Last Starfighter and Tailspin, which now I totally want. Though I suppose that's Starfox, I'm thinking... I don't know what I'm thinking.
Had an idea for the 4-Tail species' ship, I figured it would look like their heads, then I realized it could be four simple ships that dock together in the middle. This was about the time I also realized that 4-Tail is a really simple head design and I probably shouldn't use it for an alien we only see once.
Thanks! I feel like it's been ages since I've had a great idea for a spaceship, though, But the people in those ships need things to wear, so I guess it all balances out.
Household robots, loosely inspired by the ones from "Better Than Us." Liked the idea they would be small, boxy and kinda not entirely there... you get the idea that they could just fall over or snap easily.
Found a catalog of furniture and they ahd these old school lounger chairs, I thought that might jibe with my retrofuturistic sensibilities. If you're gonna go out in space and sit in a chair for years, it better be a comfy one, right?
Yeah, I can see a little LEXX in there too (I need to get back into that show, only saw the first 2 and a half episodes recently, and a few way back when it was on Sci-Fi).
So colour me SHOCKED to discover this morning that the new Red Dwarf includes a ship called... SS IRON STAR! WTF? And this is it, apparently:
So now I'm not sure what to do. It's actually a real (theoretical) space phenomenon, a possible end state for a star, so it fits pretty well with RD (Red Dwarf, Iron Star, yeah). But it also works perfectly well for my space prison too. Plus mine is actually designed for that name. And it looks different enough, serves a different function... and the RD IS is only in one episode, I gotta figure I'm relatively okay... right?

I've been writing more than anything else, and even then not much, but here's something, some superhero suit ideas.

And some doodles of airport vehicles.

Not sure what they'd be made out of ...

I got to catch up.
