Putting a texture back on a .3ds model?

I'm a newbie with MAX 9 and want to render some of Coxxon's beautiful BSG meshes. So given a .3ds file and a square .jpg with all of the textures inside it, how do I get them back onto the model for rendering?

(If this is a common question, and I suspect it is, a pointer to a previous answer would be most welcome!). Thank you for the help.

In MAX open the material editor ("M" on the keyboard), then click on the "eyedropper" icon, now click on the model, now you have a material that needs only the right textures, check the names in the material editor, and open the folder with the textures, now choose the one with the same name, done!:D

Thank you! That worked perfectly, of course, and now I have all kinds of new models to play with :D
