UMV mapping A face...

heia everyone..... ive been working on some character modeling, now that i got my head sorted out..... i wanna texture it a for a practice. I tried searching online on unwrapping the head, i did a sherical map, didnt quate understood how should i do the whole process..... any ideas where i can find some tutorials about this? i would appreciat it very much.. thank you.

    Try a cylindrical map, then use the UVunwrap modifier to tweak the points and flatten it as much as possible. so the points which make the nose will need to be spread out for example, to get an even coverage on the sides.

    you can use a checker tile map to make sure you're getting an even coverage.
