Size question

I'm trying to create a scene with my spacedock in orbit of a planet but I'm not sure of big to make it, I could use some help.

    Bigger than the space ship you want to fit inside it, I guess. If you want to fit a runabout it won't have to be very big. If you want to fit a Super Star Destroyer in it it will have to be very big, for large values of big.
