Decided to give this a thread of it's own!

Rebuild is currently about 70% done and really just working on the detailing now. Started off as a resurfacing project and ended up rebuilding the cockpit and accommodation modules completely. Still tempted to rebuild the top and wings but haven't decided yet.

So I've decided to rebuild quite a lot of the mesh due to old parts lacking the quality that I want. I've had to relearn how I did the "wings" but quite pleased with this iteration of them.......

The Runabout is on my modelling wishlist as well. I really like what you've done so far.
But I am not a fan of the acrylic glass look of the warp engine field grille. It's not realistic in my eyes, but it's fine if you want to achive a plastic model kit look.

I'll be honest, those materials are from about two years ago and haven't been touched while I've worked on the rest of the mesh. I'd be interested to know what you'd suggest as, while I don't mind the current materials, I know they could be improved.

I seem to recall you being a MAX user, right? If so, it looks like you're using standard materials. Have you tried using Raytrace materials instead with high gloss? That tends to eliminate the "plastic" look if you go with Raytrace materials.
