Hi,

Finally got more will and inspiration to go farther in designing a spaceship. This one is a Saber Class variation. Named CJS Raving (Canada-Japan Spaceship). I don't want to follow everything the Saber Class is, but I do follow the general design of it. Her are some views of it

Nice start. I can definitely see the Saber influences, but you're taking it in your own direction, as you usually do with your builds.

True...I am able to do a copy of a ship design, but I was never interested in pure replication. Maybe my next project would be to do someone else 2d design, but it took me a long time to start this one. So better finish it

Texture trial. I took back the textures from my Excelsior

Nice. I like the two-tone color job, just as I did on the Excelsior.

Done the texture and phaser under the saucer. I did something with the engines, it's hard to see. I saw this in Defiance and wanted to do something alike on my ship.





I think we can see it better that way. They are like flaps.

The below center texture isn't right however. It is too deformed. Something to change

Made a modification on the tip of the engines. Rework the darker texture.

Add more details to the top area and did some text. Add greebles and nurnies (from my small set). Now I should attack the bottom side of things...

No they are the upper part of the array dish. That part send energy, the lower part will collect it. Still needs some details but that area is small to work with, and has a particular angle.

well, upon close examination the down hull region has quite some overlapping vertex because of the chamfer. In other words: it's broken to a point I am not interested working on it. I will have to redo it again and I will choose another shape
