I've been working on and off on this for the last 6 months. Finally I'm confident enough to show it here.
I probably would do a lot of things differt if I were to start over. But limited time will force me to finish this one. Because I need a ship of my own to play with.
Spend some time in photoshop and max today. Think I'm getting somewhere. Don't really have experience with blocking rooms after windows. Are they simples planes with texture put behind it?
For the windows, there are a couple of options. You could just use textures, or build basic rooms behind the windows and just texture them. I think some people just put screenshots of rooms on. They did something like that for the First Contact physical model. It really sells that model to me in a way that the TMP model didn't. If you're really wanting to get close up, you could put low poly furniture in there as well, though obviously that's something that you can work in and out on a shot by shot basis.
Beautiful work. Your build looks very clean to me. I see you don't like to texture? Me neither; I do my surfacing the same way you do. I would dial down the contrast on your paneling just a bit.
Is she meant to be a slipstream vessel? If I recall, the original deflector of this vessel resembled the Intrepid-Class', with glowing blue around an orange/gold centerpiece.
This reminds me of the Merian-Class, Odyssey-Class, and something else that I just can't quite name right now, and I'm not sure why. I like it though. Makes me think she's designed with a kick-ass upgrade to best her predecessor.

Funny you should mention that
Welcome back. Wonderfull mesh.
The shape of a nova is somewhat more difficult than a saucer shape
What I would do is render a top-down orthographic view, take that into a vector graphics program and do some drawing. Sorry, that's all I've got.

Lovely renders.
