So much for not getting distracted. An idea popped into my head and I couldn't get it out. This ship turned out entirely different than the image in my head, but it's what I've been running with. She's a small scout/patrol ship to go along with the Evenstar Class. About 5 or 6 years older and test bedding a couple of new technologies. (Not sure whether the class name shall stick or not.)

The nacelles are a bit clunky too. Perhaps you could shave off the end a bit diagonally? And while you're at it, could you look into making the impulse engine a little bit bigger? Maybe split in two? It looks so small right now
On a side note, I was wondering about the bussard caps, but on second view they actually complement the arrow shape of the rest of the casing quite well. A very nice start!
She is roughly the same size as the Nova, could possibly serve as a replacement for the class.
Borgman, the impulse engine is actually fairly big, I may widen the top a little, though. Judt look at the size of the engines compared to the rest of the ship on the Constitution, Galaxy and Intrepid. They weren't particularly big.
Here's a couple of alternates for the saucer, not sure which one I want to run with yet.

I'll post a couple of Ortho's once I've figured out which way to go with the saucer.
The first posted original primary hull looks IMO a bit better than the alternate hull.
A may thin the back end of the nacelles along the X axis. I kinda like the chunkiness, though.

I especially like the top- and the side-view of the ship.
Evil, I quite like the bulky nacelles myself, I think that it helps to sell the scale a little.
Not much to show, but I've tweaked the bussards a little and tried to figure something out for the deflector. Not sure about the dish itself. (Pretend that that seam where the meshes aren't joined isn't there. )

Any ideas as to weapons placements, particularly torpedoes? I was originally thinking of a module on deck 8 and having that entire deck be automated. I've also thought of something similar to the Excelsior.
The deflector area is looking good so far.
Aresius, deck 8 is the bottom deck. I figured it'd be that small that there'd not be much room to put anything else there anyway. I'm probably going to ditch the module idea in place of something more traditional. (Also, I realised that the warp core needs to pass thorough in the event of an ejection.)

As per the warp-core ejection. So far, every vessel seems to be designed to eject both the core and the antimatter-pods downwards (matter is never ejected), but what about an inversed confuguration? Having the matter on the lower level, and ejecting the core and antimatter-pods upwards?
Haven't felt the modelling bug for the last few days. Work's been rather busy and left me tired. Felt like I had to do something though so I've played with the deflector this evening. Made it wider overall and shaped it a bit. (Haven't rebuild torpedo launcher yet.)
