Here's the basic model of the ring, mostly done. I may add a glowing red lens or something similar to the middle of the symbol on the ring.

I wanted a black glossy material with a blue specular, this is as close as I felt like getting just now.

Should make the inside of the ring blackish blue as well won't really be seen when worn but it would look good

I see no reason to do that whatsoever.

For ringss when it's floating around looking for a some one I see be point in add in a jewel in the center of the circle as no ring in any of the series had one that glowed or anything like that having the dark on the inside will break up all that red
