Hi everyone,
It's been a while since I visited, but I wanted to see if someone might be able to help me here. I have a series of uniforms that I had created that blended both TNG and the Wrath of Khan together into one uniform, and was wondering if it would be possible to have them rendered onto a CG character (generic, TNG-based, new, whichever). These are the styles I've had drawn:
Male duty uniform:

Female duty uniform (pants/skirt option):

I'm not asking for every single option to be rendered (if you feel so lead, I won't object), just perhaps the male and female duty uniforms on a CG human if that's possible.

Dress Uniform (imagine there being ribbons like modern navy uniforms have over the comm-badge):

(no image): imagine the above uniform, white top/pants/skirt, with department color outline of the shoulder-bar, gold rank stripes on the sleeves, pips/squeaks on the left, and full ribbons on the chest.

-The black chevron from TNG looks goofy on a double breasted suit.
-The wrap arounds are too simple and cheesy. I've never liked them for a modern Star Fleet. Fine in TOS
-The Captain's jacket and vest are just too simplistic in color scheme. A vest (like kirks) needs more especially in a military fashion.
-The dress uniform is almost there but the black belt stands out like a sore thumb. It looks like a crayon.
-The coveralls are GOOD. (but hey they're coveralls)
-The engineers jacket looks GREAT (only problem is the color on color. This color scheme makes it too simplistic. The solid color is fine for the outside but the internal shirt needs a more complicated scheme to contrast the solid color)
-Same thing with the Doctors jackets...Beautiful but the solid color on solid color is to simplistic. It's doesn't look military or stylish.
I think you need a color neutralizer.
TNG movies used the Grey jacket on the out side with a colored shirt or collar.
DS9 VOY used black to neutralize all that color with a grey turtle neck
I would recommend a stylish intricate design version of Picard's Grey undershirt that he wore in Darmok.
This is the concept of color neutralization where you get color but it doesn't overwhelm due to contrast.
