Help with smoothing problems...

I've been trying to contact DJ Curtis, but the only way to contact them, as far as I know, and per the readme file, is via bc-central, which doesn't allow new registrations, at the moment...

Example:

Nothing I do will get rid of these bends... welding vertices, etc.

Somtimes imported meshes behave very weird in max 2012.
Select all the geometry in the object, and detach it to a new object. That usually fixes "stuck" smoothing groups for me

Making a new smoothing group for them doesn't help? Try putting a STL check modifier on top and then collapsing the mesh.

I just used NifSkope to convert the model, and voila, perfect, at least compared to the Milkshape conversion...
