Stargate Kawoosh Help

coatsecoatse0 Posts: 0Member
Hi, I am creating my own Stargate tv and it is coming on very well for how long i have been on it.

The Question i have is how can i make the kawoosh for it. I am thinking on using Realflow but i have been out of the game so long i have forgot how to use it.

I think real flow would be best for this, because it's a particle based fluid sim, so you can use the particles to attach bubbles to for higher realism

I've seen many examples of this done on YT.
    AMD Ryzen 9 5900X
Gigabyte RTX 3080 Gaming OC 12GB
    1TB NVMe SSD, 2 x 1GB SATA SSD, 4TB external HDD
    32 GB RAM
    Windows 11 Pro

I think we have (had?) a couple threads about this here too. I think one of the simpler and still effective workarounds involved using a spline to deform a lathed shape from a flat circle to a blob thing (the kawoosh), with meshsmooth and noise applied.

Nutsy made a pretty good one with (I think) that method.

This is in 3ds max, I don't know what software you use:
