Hello everyone, long time no posting here. I decided to start a new thread since I don't do a lot of sci fi stuff lately. It's a ship designed by Flanker for madeinajapan's Chronicles of Man universe.

    Are those... "pipe" turrents suposed to turn seperate or at the same time?

    And I think I see torpedo hatces at themiddle bit there? :)

    Thanks everyone :D Props for Flanker for doing such an awesome design. He has a lot of other ships for the universe (about 20 as far as I can remember) so if you poke around the internet you should get some nice stuff for the universe http://www.thechroniclesofman.com/wiki/index.php?title=CoMWiki:Current_events

    Thanks everyone :D I really like the models Flanker did for the universe and I will try to do my best reacreating that unique feeling of the designs. Here's an update for the ship: (BTW sorry for the slow updates but this is my only sci-fi project going on and I'm having a hard time breaking up with my other projects :) )

    Thanks ! I wasn't away for a moment - I'm visiting the forums every day although now I don't have anything to post other than architecture and cars (and other misc stuff).

    The cruiser is almost finished now, just needs some decals but I need to get my tablet back from a friend :devil: For now the "evil" ship :

    Thanks everyone :D The ship is almost finished, I am looking into giving it a bit more detailed maps. The mesh sits a bit above 80k polys so I'm pretty satisfied with it. I will try to render a turntable animation of it during the night :

    Currently unwrapping the mesh again to cover it whole nicely with maps :

    I need to learn how to unwrap correctly there days :( I want pwetty stripes as well :P

    Hi, love the design and the name "Thors Hammer".

    One thing I noticed on the close up render of the new texturing your doing, is on the Circle insignia there is blurring as the texture goes round the geometrys angle of incidence.

    You can stop this happening by setting your blur to 0.01 when you import the texture into the material editor. It defaults to 1 and this creates the blurring effect the more angled the surface is from the viewing angle.

    Love the design though.

    That round purple device on the side of the hull? It's reminiscent of Japanese heraldry, wherein crests are called Mon.

    A word of advice, though... if you'd like to know more, don't do a web search for "Japanese Mons," because you won't get what you hope for.... :p

    How big are they? The ships. What are their crew compliments, armament's, etc? Textures are looking good. :thumb:

    Ah thanks for pointing that out, I will address the issue as soon as I get to the model :thumb: Good to know the name though - I just blindly follow whatever Flanker (Theunis) does :p

    Well I did some google searches and I see there's some pretty interesting stuff regarding those crests. Thanks for the info :)

    Hmm let's see ... this is a Heavy Cruiser :D And it's pretty big ...
