Fifteen years ago, I began writing a space saga involving the invention of the first FTL drive. The story centered around the inventor of an FTL system and his daughter. I have most of the story set, but I haven't written most of the copy, yet.

The FTL system is a wormhole jump system, which is the cause of most of the conflict in the book(s).

I began drawing up designs for this ship a few years ago when I started to revise the word files I had, simply to have a visual reference to what I was writing about. But now, I need to share them with some folk to figure out some things about the story.

The FTL ship itself, which is the spherical portion, is called the Breaking Dawn. The other ship is a cargo carrier specially equipped to transport the Breaking Dawn to a safe area to test the FTL drive.

I have been messing around with VRay, so I would appreciate some help on lighting and rendering in this respect.
