Model by me, re-textured and rendered by Christophe Desse. Based on ironman 2 MKVI armor. Even though it's cartoon style, it's very accurate to the movie version.
Chris used Octane renderer, it's a GPU based engine. Those renders, 2048 px wide, took five minutes each with an nvidia 280 GTX. Like Maxwell, you can let the render cook as long as you want, the longer you wait, the sharper your image will be. Maybe he could have waited a couple more minutes to get a better FOD effect
yar I saw this on cgtalk yesterday, pretty awesome, I don't know what happened to the blue ball on the hand though, it's got some bad edges in the second pic
