I modeled my centurion in Maya and rendered it with Mental Ray.

Hope you like :)

Looks good!!! the detail is jaw dropping!!!

Im not sure if i know what im talking about but theres something screaming off about the images perceptiveness... maybe try bluring the background... It feels like the camera is looking down on him,

The model looks very nice indeed!

Something about the centurion feels off, he looks like he is crouching even though he isn't. His Torso seems short?

A crouching version..... no, I also think it is the torso!

You shold also try stronger and 'sharper' reflections on the chrome.

It's a strange pose, I suggest you bring the legs closer to a standard standing stance.

    But that's just me.

well, alfredo (the name i gave the centurion) is in attack position, bended. it's rotating and lifting arms to draw its weapons on me, poor photographer.
Unfortunately I rendered only 2 images (I'm working on another project, the centurion is the past yet :)):

but probably this one could help to understand proportions and pose:

Very nice model. The problem with the render is, I think, that the original photo is taken downwards giving the impression that the Cylon is only a meter in height getting ready to jump upwards to my throat.

looks like hes taking a crap :D

model is good, lighting is good, only crit beside the pose/angle is he could be more shiny. reflections are too blurry.

is he rigged ? what about an action pose ?

lol, yet another comment about the pose. ok, copy that.
as for reflections, i like them and the ambient light is satured.
probably the grass should create more interesting reflections
    on feet and legs.
