Up until now, I've been using Blender and I've gotten quite comfortable with it. I wouldn't call myself a great modeller, but I know my way around Blender. For my 3D modelling class at college (and at university in the future) we're using Maya and I'm finding adapting rather difficult.
Are there any recommended tutorials/resources out there to help me make the switch?
(I had a notion for trying to model the TOS Enterprise, as it's a model I'd know how to go about doing and requires a variety of techniques, but then I realised I don't know how I'd go about the saucer, given Maya's lack of conventional bezier spine/curve tools.)
Out of the sites listed above, Cgtuts+ is what I would consider the best, but not all the tutorials are meant for beginners- but they illustrate each step rather nicely. Cheers!

Here are a couple sites I've used in the past. Don't be frightened of Maya.
Autodesk Maya | Cgtuts+
// 3D Total - The cg artists home page - 2D and 3D graphics resource site // (under "Free Stuff")
Julian Johnson-Mortimer - Online Portfolio (some of the links are a tad bit dated)
Welcome to 3DM3.com - World's Computer Graphics Community
I'd also suggest a youtube search of "Maya Tutorials" or something along those lines.
