Lightwave to 3DSMax Problems

animatoranimator0 Posts: 0Member
Hi everyone,

I am attempting to remake the TMP Drydock launch sequence, however I have encountered a bit of a difficulty.

I have the Drydock in Lightwave (where it renders much faster than Max, and in much higher quality. This is why I do not convert it), and the Refit in 3DSMax. What I need to do, is render a slow zoomout of the Drydock in LW, then render the Refit on top of that in Max. The problem is, I do not know how to export camera animation from LW to Max to sync both videos, and would rather not make a "best guess" at it.

I need to get it done this way. Lighting and the like are no problem to match, but can anyone help me out?

Thanks :)

    Try .fbx file.

plug-ins for LW and Max are on Autodesk.com, be sure to DL the right versions.

Excellent. Worked perfectly (after a little tweaking). Thanks, wjaspers! ^^

the problem is that LW files are too cool for max to handle

Well, of course a LW user would say that :D.

    3DSMax 2010 FTW!
