How do I convert .max to .3ds

[Deleted User][Deleted User]11 Posts: 4,002Member
I just got into 3d modeling and the only program I have is Bryce 5.5. I do pretty good modeling with the primitive shapes but from time to time I like to import additional models into the scene. I've looked for file converters to convert .max files into .3ds (one of the only files Bryce supports) but have only been able to find ones that convert .lwo to .3ds. Can anyone help me?

There aren't any ways to convert .max files without 3ds Max, it's the program's main format and it's not meant to be transferable to other programs. Your only choices is to either get someone with 3ds Max to do it for you, or you can download the 30-day trial and do it yourself.

Thanks, I guess I'll download the trial.
