Hye guys.

ive been trying various 3d softwear and am finding it difficult to use. i am wondering if there is sofware that is similar to MS paint (as in drawing the top view, then the side view and so on) it would make my life so much easier if there is.

cheers.:thumb:

    nope . . . :shiner:
not so simple as drawing 3 views and getting a 3d model
you do that and you still have 3 2D images

best thing to do would be to go through some tutorials and just keep working at it
    pretty soon it'll come easy

I've heard good things about Wings3D, and truespace 3.2 is free now
TS is up to 7.x now, but 3.2 is still good :thumb:
    give Wings a try :D

took me a year to get into the modeling side with lightwave..use it first for rendering pictures ... now it the other way I mostly model ..

the learning curve is the fun part :) .. keep at it , that was the advise I got .

This month's 3D world had a demo of Curvy 3D that apparently makes 3d shapes from drawn lines and shapes.

You won't go wrong with Wings 3D though. Check out Puzzled Paul's tuts No spacecraft, but good none the less.

Actually there is a program that does it, but it is intended to be used for (simple) technical (AutoCad) drawings. Complicated scifi meshes, thank God, are too difficult for it.
