I think you've got some problems with non-shadow casting lights.
The lense flare and engine glows are very distracting.

Might I suggest adding some object behind the glowing thingie ?
Some wormhole or whatever ...
Also - engine tubes should be in the dark - they is no line of sight between them and the glowing thingie
