HDRI lighting/reflections

hey iv got max6 with no extra plugins. Was wondering if its possible to do HDRI lighting and reflections and all that jazz with the default renderer or mentalray? Preferably default renderer cuss mental ray ****s me.

    It should be. I think Max 6 was the first version of Max that could use HDRI without 3rd party plugins (I'm not sure though, I was using Maya at the time). Check the help files.
