Exporting - Rhino to 3DS Max

I just upgraded from Max 7 to Max 9, and also got hold of a copy of Rhino (the student license deals for Rhino are really very good). I thought Rhino might be easier than Max for doing CAD-y things in early model definition, which I could then export to Max to complete, texture and render.

Having just tried a couple of experiments (which haven't gone so well) I was wondering if anybody had any advice. Sensible file formats to export as? I'm trying to export a mixture of meshed NURBS and construction splines. DXF, IGES and .3DS all seem to import the object as a single item. It's going to be awfully tiresome to export and import each entity as a seperate file.

Do people do this regularly, or am I going off on some sort of crazy jaunt here?
