Is this ok to do? or will i regret it later?

Ok, im trying to make a curved wing thing, but the model wouldnt fill in the space between lines for me, so i did it with a large amount of smaller lines. is this ok to do? Is there some other tool in sketchup that can fill it in for me without the little lines? Which tool is better for hiding the, hide command or soften/smoothen?

well thats how it is done in most 3d apps so i say its ok

to clarify- in most to all 3D apps, a round surface is a surface made of many planes.(less faces = segmentation)
