Lighting and lens effects

hello everybody, well my question of the day is based on lighting, today i was sitting not doing much, and i decided to make a logo for myslef. Well i wanted something with a cool, neon or blueish exposion.... in a sphere of some sort, the only reasonis that i dont know how to act with the lighting system, as far as i can go is Lens effect, then thas all i can do.
Can u offer me some suggestions or tutorials would be great.
