Conversion - MAX to almost ANYTHING...

I used to use Max when I could still get a student license, but that has since ceased. I have recently picked up Blender and would like to convert my Max files to something I can import into Blender, but I have been unable to find something actually capable of it. I have already downloaded and used the Max free trial before I tried Blender, so I cannot use that method. If anyone would be willing to help I would be very appreciative.

You can save MAX files as .obj files. You can then import and edit these in Blender.

I think only Max open Max files reliably, unfortunately, but it looks like there is a Blender addon for that sort of thing. https://extensions.blender.org/add-ons/io-scene-max/

Your materials will probably break, and I kind of doubt it can handle a modifier stack, but maybe it'll get the geometry across.
