    Accidentally found the original NX-01 shuttlepod when I searched of detailed shots for the Enterprise.
    Played a little with the basic shape that I found very cool and decided to finish the mesh.
    The main differences are the engines with bended, retractable wings and a deployable landing gear.

    Slightly better renders but still far from the intended results.

    Update: removed the frames from the pics.

    Hello folks,

    Been a long time since I uploaded or even made anything regarded to 3D and such. I get back to modeling recently and decided to continue my NX-01 mesh that I started in uhh 2018 when I stumbled upon this design. Well, it was some time ago.
    It's a heavily modded model as usual, differences here and there, took an additional 2 months to finish the whole mesh.
    My rendering skill is quite rusty, so don't expect top notch renders.

    @Mustang13Camaro68: I'm thinking of modeling the lower docking bay since I made an NX-01 shuttlecraft.
    @CptBenSisko: I didn't think it would be difficult to make this mesh when I saw at first. Then I realized that the detail itself defines this ship.
    This is my most detailed model so far with approx 2.2 mil polycount.

    Set up a scene for the NX-01 with the Robinson Nebula. Purple and magenta are really though colors to work with...

    I gave your preference a try and yeah, the TOS like style fits better.
    Having a shuttlecraft v2 wouldn't hurt. :)

    The composite with a&d doesn't work for me in MR for some reason, however since I followed your tutorials back to ugh... 2014, your diffuse mix material did the trick. https://madkoifish.wordpress.com/2019/07/21/collected-tut-like-images/
    Didn't even need to use special effects/ao at a&d (since it's a mess), just added an ao layout to the diffuse bracket then the hull diffuse setup to the bright bracket at ao tab.
    It's a raw render ofc but the ao dirt can be seen even at this low setting. The only thing I'm getting sick of is the default viewport now.

    Here are a couple of new renders. I know 1 or 2 of them were posted when I started this thread, but since I've been learning MKF mr render settings I redoed the old ones.
    The perspective rear view was a real pain to make. Sadly, still plastic-like...

    Yes, something wasn't good with that, I modified the inputs, it seems better now.

    Thanks komaro, actually the saucer will have the same style as Odyssey has (Chevron separation, if I remember right).

    I couldn't resist adding new lights to deflector and playing a bit with scene setups. Actually what I've been doing for 3 days is rendering....(thanks to the weather...)
    I figured out that I have to get rid of omni lights and use target omnis instead, plus set much softer shadows.
    I think these renders a bit better than the prev ones.
