Sorry, I use a translator. I would like to know if you publish the Klingon ship.
Did you create your head from Nurbs?

    Looking good, dude. :)

Thanks - you two. I won't be posting the object file online if that's what you mean Trekki

Oh I built the curved nose section using point drawing. Lightwave calls it "pen draw." I then move points around and got rid of as many non planar polygons as I could and tripled the ones I needed to.

Ah, good old point draw. Such a useful tool. :)

Thank you, ok, you will not publish the object, that is exactly what I wanted to know.
I am building on this object ...

On the forward "Bridge" section. I have some adjustment to do to my mesh there. This is simply because I have tried twice now, to cut windows into the mesh with only what could be described as a bizarre outcome.

Great start trekki. I know what you're going through. This ship has some very "organic" shapes. A lot of difficult curves. Furthermore, the main spine at the center of the ship, going from bridge to tail, is an enigma. There are images with suggestions of how it is done, but it is frustrating to make the Orthos match up. There are just some impossible elements that don't coincide.
Also, we will never know the true makeup of the engines at the top under the cowling (covers), and to some degree the two at the root (not the tip) of the "wings" (Although they are a little clearer on the underside). The other area is the back of the bridge section. No photo.

Lastly, the triangular mounts for the tanks. I worked something out, but I know it isn't accurate.

Here are ortho projections of my tanks and the triangular mount, in case that's useful. Obviously, you have to drop the mount back down on the tank and move the cage back onto the tank. Also the tank does not have a mesh defect. There is a little raised ridge on the original model It just looks like a defect at this resolution.

Thank you for the Tank Orthos, very good.
    I look for more pictures.
I do not know if the rear area is correct.
    An image without "tanks"

Thanks Trekki - I have those orthos without tanks. Ive noticed there are obvious changes he made for that particular ship that were made because of the removal of the tanks. Apparently the spine of the ship was too plain without the tanks, so he greebled it a little.

    Here is progress on mine.

Hi, I appreciate all the feedback. Everyone have a great week.

Here my first attempt at the warp engines. It seems a little sparse to me, but that is easily solved. I have not located a very good picture of it yet.

This really is a very cool design and you are doing a great job.

(Hmmm.... does anyone still say really cool?)
  • BrandenbergBrandenberg194 Posts: 678Member
Hey Tralfaz. Always nice to see you. I hope all is well.

I do. And I agree, it's really cool.

    Hi Brandenberg,
the engine is very nice cool.
    Is the engine inside hollow?
  • BrandenbergBrandenberg194 Posts: 678Member
I believe it is hollow. But there is no pure ortho shot I can find, to be sure of that conclusion.
  • BrandenbergBrandenberg194 Posts: 678Member
Oh I should add that I'm certain the back half behind the yellow glowing greebles is hollow.
  • trekkitrekki213 Posts: 760Member
Yes, there it is hollow. Look in Finished work here in the forum. There are pictures
from my tanker. Thanks for your Tips.
