  • Protectorate Ships

Yeah, I know it's a big ship, but it's got a bug shape and we think of the "wings" as bigger than the body. So to see them smaller doesn't quite feel right in our brains. Perhaps the trick is to think of them as fins like on a fish, those can be smaller and spread out a little wider.

I think the issue might be that the wings seem small/thin compared to the body (even though a spaceship doesn't need wings). I might add a point of articulation so the shape can change, give it a sense of motion/direction.

I'm definitely seeing elements from your Liberator redesign, but I like how you're taking it into a distinct direction, big fan of that mentality. Both ships look cool, in particular I'm digging the Brutalist motif for that transport ship, it's a little Dune but not Dune

  • Pen and ink ships since I can't model

Quick pencil sketch of the Dominator, trying to figure out the basic shape/layout of it. Still based on the redesign of the Liberator, but I'm thinking I might let it sprout into its own thing. In the meantime, I also found reference for other microphones and I should look at other vintage studio equipment to keep the "microphone turned into a spaceship" vibe alive.

  • The Milan Maru (Ebon Hawk Redesign)

Solid latches not flimsy, satisfying clicking noice, good resistance when you press down, good travel distance... those would be good switches.
