Thanks everyone! Here's a quick animation of the Imperial Nebulon deploying some fighters into battle!

Slowly adding details to this monster. I love her and I hate her!

Also working on an Imperial version with extra hull plating inspired by the original Lucasfilm concept sketches from the ESB Sketchbook.

She started life as the BF2 model but we're a couple of zillion polygons beyond that now :)

Still lots of details and textures to come, especially on the drive section and spine.

She's not 1000% screen accurate, but I'm happy so far with the general shape and detail blocking. Hope you like it!

Forgive me for starting a new thread, but I thought this warranted one. Greeble factory output is at 100%!!

Hope you guys like it, it started by being fun, then exhausting, now I'm pushing through exhaustion back into the fun zone.

Sitting at around 43K polys in Modo right now. Not bad, really, for a guy who works mostly in textures. Man, I love this stuff.

Thanks guys, the Fat-Fury is done!

The SA-66 "Super StarFury" was designed as a replacement for the venerable SA-23.

Engineers at Mitchell-Hyundyne, eschewed the deep-atmosphere capability of the Thunderbolt in favor of a new reaction engine system supplemented by gravitic and magnetic technology gained from the Interstellar Alliance.

The SA-66 had nearly three times the acceleration capabilities of an SA-23E, supplemented by a gravitic compensation system that allows Super Star Fury pilots to endure much greater G-Forces.

"Fat-Furies" served in limited numbers during the Drakh crisis, and went on to become the mainstay of the Earth Alliance fighter force until they were supplanted by the Lock-NorGrum FG-2 in the late 2290s, marking the end of the StarFury line.

SA-66A BuNo. 64-1049 Was delivered to Earth Alliance Transfer Station Europa in 2265. Damaged by Lumatti raiders during the Hustler Incident, it was remanded to the EarthForce Technical Institute on Luna. It served as a crew and maintenance trainer until being donated to the Smithsonian Air & Space museum in 2282, having never fired a shot in anger.

Thanks Cal, here's an update on texturing. Now to start weathering. Not too heavy though, this baby is pretty new.

Thanks everybody, I'm back to working on the Super Fury, here's an update. Still some geometry issues on the top wing, but I'm having fun adding details.

@LockeFP, I never knew a pilot who would refuse extra fuel! (or propellant, if you're talking rockets) I just closed up some of the open spaces between the wings in the original and added some extra equipment and black boxes. There's gas in the wings, to be sure, but now there's just more of it!

With the Super Fury cockpit being just a little larger than the standard 'Fury (Which is already pretty big) the Super Fury actually scales out a little smaller than the original. Hmm, interesting. Now it kind of reminds me a little of a Minbari fighter or something similar. Maybe a Minbari/Human/ISA design

  • Klavs' Star Wars Mental Expulsion Thread

Hi guys, I hope you won't mind too much if I vent my Star Wars bric-a-brac in this thread to keep it contained. None is meant to be cannon, or a direct representation of the model featured, unless it is, in which case I meant it to be that way.

First up, the texturing on the McQuarrie A-Wing, or R-22 Spearhead, or whatever you want to call it, is mostly done. This is the pretty clean version. A much more scuffed version may be underway!
