Hallo everyone, since I have been working here on one single project for a decade now, I thought it might be time to show you what else I have been doing over the years.
I'll start with the two projects in the most presentable state.

First: the inevitable Enterprise Redesign


























And Second: the matching K7

After I stumbled through the Star Trek Universe for some time I felt an urge to visit my old baby again. Obviously I haven't made much progress during those months. Mainly tweaking materials and testing the new render settings of Blender 4.02. But I definitively want to go back into modelling, too. I got a ton of new reference material and can't wait to see if it will be of use.

A few close-up's that I also wanted to share.








And a closer look to the bridge. Obviously still a lot to do here.

Made a new glass material and tested it under different lighting set-up's.

The room behind those windows. I don't know how far I'm going with this, 'cause you really don't see much of it from the Outside.




Edit: did tweak materials a bit. Still not satisfied with the carpet, though.



Edit 2: Another day, another material test. Might leave the carpet now as it is.

Took me a while, I know. I turned back to the exterior model and started panelling it. At least the parts that I am confident I won't change any more. I already had been that far in a previous version. We'll see how far I get this time.







And just because I wanted to see how it appears in context, I also did a few exterior shots of the cockpit.

Not much to say about this one. I Just liked the angle.

And I did add the panorama windows from the saucer to the neck, too. I figured they would provide an interesting view.


Sure some will think the view is wasted if 50% of what you see is the saucer. But I guess some might even prefer a sight where you can actually see the ship flying through the stars. Also this way the eye has something to hold on for orientation instead of being confronted with the whole vastness of space. It evokes a feeling of being save inside, I hope. And for everyone else there are still plenty panorama views around the saucer.

Unlike Picard I didn't need that reunion of the old TNG crew onboard the 'D' to know that the carpet is one of the things I miss most from 90's Trek. Therefore ...



Might have to tweak it a bit more, though.

Rebuild almost all of it during the last days. Basically scaled it down by 30% and adjusted the silhouette. Hope the proportions will feel more correct now. Didn't touched the Pylons and the whole docking ring including the bridges to the inner core yet, though. Those are next.
