    Hey all. Those in the Discord channel know I've been plugging away at this relatively straight forward scene for weeks now. I'm finally happy with it. Created primarily to learn more about PhoenixFD and creating a decent looking explosions for still images. I'm quite happy with the results. Big should out to @nightfever for sharing his fantastic Defiant model!

    I don't think it looks too open, personally. But another option would potentially be for the lip not to follow the hull line as much to shrink it without removing it. Eg -

    But then, I'm not sure what detailing you've got in mind. Either way - the detailing looks great. looking forward to seeing how it develops.

    Looking great, Eric. Damn shame to hear about the drive crash. I back all my 3d stuff up to the cloud these days. I can't bare the thought of losing all the stuff I've built and accumulated over the years. :)

    Sucks to hear about the lost progress, but glad to hear you managed to get something back, McC. I was enjoying seeing this one come together.

    Please let this be a lesson that others can learn from - it's so worthwhile getting an online backup service. You set it and forget it. But it's saved my bacon a number of times, over the years. :)

    Are you holding off to do a chamfering pass later? I see an interesting mix of nicely smoothed edges and others that really stand out because they're just a straight, sharp edge. Happy to point out the ones I'm noticing - just wasn't going to waste the time if you were going to revisit areas (one example being the 'cannon' on the head).

    Really great work so far. :sunglasses:
