This is my first completely scratch built "model." I carved it from extruded foam and painted it to look like rock with Vallejo acrylic paints. I plan to also build a partial environment around it and do a miniature VFX shot with it. Always wanted to do a miniature shot, but haven't had the chance. Should be fun.

    That's awesome! For your first attempt, it's mind-blowing. Love the look to the foam, with the textures and all.

    I finished the "hero" elements of the Guardian of Forever. The gate itself, the bricks, and also the column next to it. Now I just have to make lots of rocks and ground cover.

    It will, but I will be doing those with CGI using a plugin called FumeFX. I am building the Guardian and the surrounding rocks/ground/columns/bricks as real objects. I will film all of that against blue or greenscreen, then composite a digital background into it. The CG smoke will be simulated on top of all that.
