Really starting to lock down the look of the textures. Still needs a little tweaking. I want to finish the textures first before I start to grunge things up.

Well it’s a new month and I’m back to this ship. Started to work on the textures of one of the engines Want to add a few more thing maybe and they’ll be done for now.

Getting some more work done on the textures for the Deadalus. Right now it’s just roughed in I will be toning it down. I also have to rework the spec map on the back of the hull.
I also might redo the maps on the warp engines because I’m not happy with parts of them.
Wow, that turned out well! I love the Daedalus. I like the effect you have in the ramscoops, too. I agree about that back of the hull... the aztecing looks good, but it needs to be way more subtle, as it kind of looks like built-up dirt/grime on the back, unless you get close enough to know it's aztecing.
The dirt on the creases give me headaches. I always find I'm tuning the fill down on those layers. My friend constantly tells me there wouldn't be dirt on the ships since they have deflectors. I've always wondered if he's right. Any thought on that Fozz? Don't get me wrong I like the dirt. Just a curiosity I figured I'd ask you about.
I only add the dirt to give the ship more character. Personally I'm not a fan of clean ships unless they're new. It can also help some of the details pop a little more or hide possible faults.

Just about finished with this ship. Just gotta finish a few things on the missile launcher and a few other details.

Added more detail and did a little more work on the textures.
Started on some temp textures for the primary hull.
Something wacky is going on in the back. Have to find a way to fix it.

Some alternate textures I did.
Got the airlock done and worked on the forward checkerboard pattern. It still stretches a bit at the bottom.
Finally started on the missile launcher.
Fixed the name because I noticed it was spelled wrong and also added a bit more color to break it up.

Started work on the neck. Not looking forward to doing the main hull.
Started to texture the primary hull. Getting close to finished for now.

I think I have the dirt dialed in just the way I want it. Just need to add a little more additional bits of grime
