  I am starting with the weapons pod to go from basic layout to full details. I am about 90% done with the mesh for that part of the ship and am starting to work on the bridge module.

  While researching this ship, it was mentioned that they saw that the weapons pod could be swapped out for a sensor pod or extra shuttle storage if needed; so I was thinking that I may model a variant with a different module in place.

  I have done a little more work to the weapons pod and now moving down the ship towards the pylons.

  There are some details that I am adding that was not part of the original ship such as making the outer torpedo launchers different from the two inner ones, and adding an additional piece where the pylons meet the weapons pod. The recessed areas on the pylons are actually taken from reference pictures of the ship and where not included on the actual movie model. I plan on having it holding sensor panels.

  Nice work. This is definitely a design where doing things slightly different than the original is a good thing, given how low detail the original was.

  BTW, has anyone elose thought that the weapons pod by itself could have some parts added and be a respectable little ship?

  I do imagine that the weapons pod could be blown away and separated from the ship in the event that there might be cautastrophic failure with the torpedoes. How ever it could also be a separate vehicle in other situations as well; the Negvar class Klingon vessel has a secondary vehicle in the back and the Vorcha could separate the front portion from the rest of the ship.

  The catamaran style hull pieces are a pain in the you know what, but I believe they are looking good.

  Latest picks from the model. Got almost all of the windows in the catamaran hull and started work on the nacelles.

  Very nice. I'll be those windows were a pain to do on such an oddly curved piece.

  It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. The only problem I came across, and still facing issues with, is that when a window is on a shallow part of the hull, it gets stretched out. From the side and top, it doesn't look bad but when you look at it at just the right angle, it no longer looks believable. They are placed in the correct places based on the reference pictures I have so the windows look just like that on the actual model I suppose. It is just when you get in close, you realize that the windows now would take a part of the ceiling in what ever room that window is supposed to be in.
