Hello everyone. It's been a long long time since I posted on these hallowed forums.

Anyway, tonight I was Google Image searching, and came across a page on Shapeways with models being sold, some of which were originally designed by a few friends of mine. I know their work, and remember seeing the WIP shots several years ago. I made them aware of the situation so they can take action, which they now are.

One of my friends though, he came across on the same site, another user, that was selling my own ship as his own!! Below the body of this post you'll find links to not only my ship that was stolen, but also to my friend's ship as well.

I'm making this post, just in case, there are artists here on these forums that might also be victims.

He has been reported but sadly nothing has been done about it,
Your right to an opinion does not make your opinion valid.

It sucks hard when you put a lot of time and effort into something just to have some snotty kid come along and rip it up, put it back together, and take credit for your hard work. It's even worse when the people who have the power to stop them won't lift a finger. It frustrated me to the point of just giving up.

I hate to be the bearer of more bad news, but it looks like MedJai's USS Diligent, Ed Giddings' USS Prometheus, and a couple of TAN.J's Battlestars are being sold on ShapeWays as well.

    Heres the Diligent:

    The Prometheus:

    Battlestar Pleiades:

I think there are several others here done by members of the community but I dont know who built them all.

if some evil sc*mb*g is trying to seel your models, or products derived from them then undercut him. upload yours on shapewyas for say 2 pence less, with some clever work everyone goes to your models. even if you make only a penny for each time you sell it you're still pis*ing the thief off and profiting(slightly). that's if the model the s*um*ag stole was originally freely available.

I'm not planning on 'undercutting' some sc*mbag who's selling my own models...

Hmmm... he's still selling your model, but now he thinks it's okay since he's giving you credit.

Yeah, I contacted the seller. At least it's better than nothing. Need to think about this one...

Just wanted to see how your efforts were in getting these thieves to take down the models. A couple friends still aren't getting anywhere with their efforts, mostly cause the thieves are choosing not to respond.

And that's about the only way you can go if the thieves don't answer to you. Always go for the higher step, if the morons don't act. Because (I dunno how the law is in your country/countries) you can sue the site-owner for the illegal selling of your stuff, even if he's not the one selling it. He is still an associate and as that at least partially guilty. And Ignorance is no excuse in law....

Do not bother contacting the seller contact shapeways. They manage the site and profit from the sales.
Each day we draw closer to the end.

I hope that the Karma from this madness that has been wrought upon you good people from this most despicable theft will soon be wrought upon the people who made you suffer as your hard work is earning some one else the money that they did not earn and yet you don't get a single shiny pinny.

Justice will prevail. You good people will win. One way or another. I will keep you in my prayers so that what is wrong will become right and what is right will stay right.
