Hey folks, itA’s been a long time since I last posted something, so here is my current project. Maybe this will be the first model IA’m going to actually finish.
What do u think so far? Any suggestions, ideas? IA’m not quite sure about the wings. The one thing I really like is the middle section.

Have you tried Star Trek online? There are so many new ship design and I wonder if they havenAât taken a greedy turn by introducing such styles as the Dyson ones?
Anyway IAâve been experimenting with Star Trek design on this ship and think that I found a nice way of implementing a forward deflector phalanx on this baby. IAâll post a picture when itAâs done!

in all honesty i do think a spinal mounted super weapon might be better in that position.
I have you covered. Here's my Kling folder.

Here's the Bird of Prey gun, then torpedo launcher, which you have problem seen everywhere. Don't worry, there is more.

Here are few of the D7 guns, from the movie model. Note the mark, "Fujima Panzer I turret." Those are disruptor turrets, and they appear all over the hull.

Next, its torpedo tube and more disruptor turrets. Note, in the original series, the gaping mouth torpedo launcher was actually a small, inset deflector dish very much like the Enterprise's dish.

Vor'Cha concept art. In the show, the ship would fire in various ways from the bow prongs or the central, red deflector in the bow.

Vor'Cha, never produced, alternate head.

Neg'Var from DS9, which, in-universe, predates the "All Good Things..." version. Note, just inward of the nacelles are turret like details. They're actually placed poorly for that task, and lack proper detail for the task, but are a good starting point for such an object design. Additionally, it has gigantic disruptor nacelles bellow. The barrels of the disruptor nacelles should be able to turn in an ideal world, but the fine detailing precludes any sort of swivel.

Well, so far IAâve decided to side with the majority and settle for the Star Trek universe, but IAâm not sure to go pure klingon yet. I worked a bit on the colour scheme and started to add some smaller details. Unfortunately IAâm not as good as most members here at modelling, so every little detail seems to take me forever, please bear with me!

They actually fired torpedoes in Way of the Warrior.
can't really figure out why precisely, but I do like it
You managed to get your finger on it. The geometry is certainly more reflective of an Andorian ship.
@saquist: Thank you, I already thought about that episode and watched it again! Thats one of my favourite DS9 episodes, I just really like space battle scenes and Sisko is just badass!
@maran: hmm, what exactly do u mean? The nacelle and wing design? I looked at some pictures at google, but it doesnAât look very similar to me, but glad u like it, itAâs my first serious attempt at modelling a big ship!
Yeah, they're dead, I guess from lack of use. I might change them to a link to my Photobucket folders. They look like torpedoes, but I still can't get over them firing from what should be humongous guns. However, they do fire at a distinct angle, indicating they should be able to point off bore. Lastly, the pulses don't spin, like normal torpedoes, and they look very similar to the disruptor shots from the pistols in the melee scenes.
The ship might look kind of Andorian because of the color and more horizontal nacelles.

BTW, is there a quick way to get paralell faces on an unregular surface, like the ones on those greebles? I want to get somethink like this, but on those unregular panels:

i can explain how i might do it in sketchup and this may bear some resemblance to how you would do it with whatever software you use.

Agreed, it's a nice design..believable, functional and sleek..whay does it have to be from any franchise at all? make it your own, otherwise it'll get lost in the mix. Original work deserves an original universe don't ya think?
Another thing is, Trek tends to not use mechanical turrets, but I don't see why not. Your ship would stand out if it had something like medium size weapons on turrets lining the top and bottom of the ship, in a superfire configuration. Torpedoes, or a similar weapon could still take the traditional, fore and aft locations, or not.
Just some thoughts.
