YAY! I tried uploading the model today, and it went successfully in minutes rather than hours as before! There are 3 parts to this model. Part 1 and 2 contain the model itself and Part 3 contains the textures. Not sure how long it will be before they become available in the downloads section though.

Beautiful work Tralfaz! Iron protects a piece of nature... I like that.

I like your progress on this. Lots of cool bits modeled underneath.

Not seeing it in the Downloads section yet. What sub-section will it be filed under?

    Thank you everyone.

The model, when available, will be in the Other Sci-Fi section.

To all those who are Silent Running fans. I took devotion a little further and we built the ship from a 3D model using a rapid protyper. heres some links to the build up.We are currently working on doing a 10" model of the dome the same way. Enjoy

oh, physical modelling, quite good. not sure exactly what the ship looks like overall, underside of dome reminds me of underside of starship in district9.

Glad you like ...Taking 3D into the real world is what I do. This is a kit for anyone interested in getting it.

"Now here's something we hope you REALLY like..."

    ..
    I got nothing.

Dome looks amazing, though, I really miss the audacity of putting a real airline logo on a spaceship.

Nice work on the dome, TZY, but I'd love to have a bunch of those cargo pods! Y'know, just to stack in various configurations on my desk.
Did you make them on a 3D printer, or out of sheet styrene?
How come ThinkGeek doesn't sell these as building blocks?

Sorry for not getting back in here for so long... Real busy these days
The cargo pods were built as a 3d master , then built on a prototyper then cast in resin. Hollow cast.
