My best try with the tools i have. Optical flares would have been handy. Trying sim of anamorphic optics.

    Well, considering he's already commented that in retrospect he things he overdid it with the lens flare thing, I doubt it'll be Sunglasses in Spaaaaaaaaaace the next time around.

    Made booboo posting pic twice. Once saw a movie with a bright saber like neon in a bar, and the panavision lens makes this horizontal hall of mirros on top of the blue streak. If you've seen the SF horror movie The Thing, Kurk Russel holds a flare, and the lens makes a dozen copies of it from side to side.

    A real lightsaber or a simulation, rendered as through this kind of lens, would actualy look like that. Might try to amend effect with those reflections if i can figure out how to do it.
