Only releasing here for BCC, and not SFC 3?
bummer
SFC3 can't handle 26k polys. I kinda went overboard, but I need to find someone's that's an expert at poly chopping. I'm decent enough, but I don't have the heart to chop her polys. She's my baby.
Very good!
Is she available just as a mod for BC, or is she available as a max version too?
I made her in MAX 9, so there is a MAX 9 version, and I've been thinking of uploading it here, but not sure what to do to protect the rights. I've only ever released kitbashes for SFC, not Sci-Fi Meshes.
Check with FoaS, or Atheorhaven they might be good at it. The only one I knew of was Atrahasis and he isn't modelling SFC anymore. I think Atra might not be modelling period now.
Are the mappings on the warp engines insides the same as the outsides for the warp grills?

For a SFM release, you can include a readme file with terms of use but, in truth, it wonAât protect you about "those" bastards, if itAâs about it that you talking about.

Yep, that's true. Same goes even for game models. Maybe I should start releasing a series of renders with credits and then release the ship. Hmmm.
There were times I wondered how it would turn out. See, I can barely make the 3D models. I couldn't make a Sovereign Class model at this point in time with my modeling skills, but I can do other types of ships, mostly TMP era designs, which I do love a lot as you can see.
The mapping, as I've mentioned before, was done by WileyCoyote, and the textures were done by Bones from the Bridge Commander Community. When it came to finally making this ship believable, Bones I think deserves most of the credit. He had done textures for other ships, and had developed a nice feel for post TNG type textures that were unique, yet still clearly Trek.
I think the way I designed the components of the model kinda gave him the motivation to go even further, and well, as you said, you can't argue with results. :-)
If you can imagine this above described idea as following the Belknap (as 1701-A) and this concept as 1701-B, with Probert's Ambassador class following as the Dash-C, you have a better path to the Galaxy class by Omitting the Excelsior altogether.
I think this was a great community effort. With a good model, texture and mapping work. And I have to agree it does feel it could well be in the TNG era.

Thank you. And I think I'm watching you on DA. I recognize the name in your signature. :-)

Yep, I believe so.

Thank you very much. :-D
I've gotta admit, I might not have thought it would work without seeing it but you can't argue with results like that.

I love the neck of the Nyx class here

Merged with the saucer here http://www.trekbbs.com/showthread.php?t=144181
but with that saucer just a tad thicker...as here: http://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/197294_10150142884104489_312939564488_6484992_1262673_n.jpg http://www.trekbbs.com/showthread.php?t=142506
If you add the ACE nacelles from here: http://federationreference.prophpbb.com/post11575.html#p11575
Add them all together, and you have a TMP version of what A Galaxy class would have been if done in the classic movie era
Not unlike this early painting for Next Gen http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n167/aridas_sofia/trek/JetsonsEnterprise.jpg

Perhaps this flipped upside down might make a good secondary hull for a thicker Ariel type saucer

With a standard Ariel atop the Belknap secondary hull with ACE nacelles and a normal neck
