3ds max icon freezes

I have annoying problem with max. Uper-left "snake" icon freezes during my work. I have no access to saves options, asset manager, references etc. Anyone has this same problem?

If your scene is quite large, the auto-save every 5 minutes (by default) can make max "freeze" for a bit.
See if turning off auto saves makes the issue go away to confirm.

Autosaves are really useful though, I definitely don't recommend turning them off permanently. If this turns out to be the problem, consider splitting your scene in parts and XRef'ing parts into the scene you are working on - that way it shouldn't have to save the entire scene, just what you are workin on.

I have something similar, but the buttons don't freeze, they just stay highlighted after the cursor moves off them...

No, my scenes are not big. Icon freezes even with very small scenes.

...it depends only from how long I am working in 3ds max.

    Try:
    Update drivers,
Change viewport render from X to opengl/nitro/dx
    change gui skin
create new scene and merge all
    kick the hardware ;-)

I tried everything except kicking my hardware.
I definitely do this next year when I earn for my new computer ;-)

here, when i click the square icon, the menu apears, and then vanishes. i have to click it freneticly to stay long enough to go and click something.
and, on a side note, the right click quad menu vanishes too shortly. but when i move my mouse, it hilight the one function its suposed to be over.
changing drivers and viewport render display didnt changed a thing.

    i just live with it.
