The front wall is modeled, the doors are texture maps, put some better trees inside, the bottom and the ceiling are also texture maps.

I thought I saw some trees in there. It looks good. :)

I hope you didn't take my observation about the explosion as a dislike. I found the big explosion quite good. I mean they really need a reason to use torpedoes, they could've also phasered the asteriod if it weren't a bigger danger... ;)

I love the warp-effect, but agree that the tunnel particles should be more blurred.

Your observation was quite correct, I think the smaller explosion works better with this scene. In a further shot I'll destroy something bigger and there I'll use a big boom :)

Working on the warp tunnel and the flying stars, I think the scale and color of the tunnel now looks better

You actually have turned blue into a warm color. Great job.

Very nice, my one crit would be to move the colored stars on the left a bit more away from the camera. They are flying in my face right now and that kind of wrecks the sense of scale that it seems like they should have. I'd also get rid of the stars at :53-1:00 that move too close to the camera.

Looking at that one, I'd recommend the following:
Put this last scene with the underpass and movie-warpout at the end. It has the feeling of an end, both with the text at the end and the music in general. And at the beginning, you should put a more tactical approach. A passover for instance when it's already at warp or something like that. To underline the urgency of their situation. Alsot he starting music should be more agressive.

    Nice work!

Minor crit about the warp-out, the ship disappears into the flash while still relatively close, could you make it zip away a bit faster?

Working with the brand new mesh of the U.S.S. Reliant by Raul Mamoru.

Did some retexturing and added lensflares for the lights. A short render shows the Mutara Nebula entry. Maybe I'll make a little TWOK animation with this fabulous mesh

Sweet. When I saw your other thread, I was hoping you were planning to animate that beauty. :)

Creating a litte flyby animation with the Enterprise and the Reliant. This is a single shot of the sequence.

A short trailer, it's really a fantastic mesh

I posted this on the video, but YouTube is acting up, shocking right?

However, as I posted there, I would offset the beacons a bit, so they're not in sync...

As for the nebula, can't wait to see how you tackle it. :)

Amazing work! I love how you make the Reliant the star, and the Enterprise is just slowly following.
You've got quite a challenge ahead of you!

Thanks guys for the nice comments, starting now with the creation of the Mutara Battle animation.

Some shots of Take 1-3, it makes a lot of fun to work with the mesh :)

    Very nice.

In my little showcase video of the model, I'd planned to add a few of the initial Reliant shots, but I decided not to do so.

Working on the nebula, I used a combination with a CG background and 4 layer stock cloud footage in different colors.

The layers are multiplied in premiere, the result is not bad.

Youtube is killing the quality a little bit

Quality getting you as well I see... so I'm not alone anymore.

    Despite that, it looks awesome.

The first torpedo shot, added a small stock explosion effect into the scene

smooth color gradients is the horror to a high compressed codec, I knew that before I uploaded the file :)

Another preview, in this animation I use a combination of CG work and some movie footage, the sound design I make on my own.

Even then, YT is still botching the quality...

It's looking really good so far. However, one small nitpick. Both ships should already have visible damage on them from round 1 of the fight.

I would like to do something different so my editing tells another version of the mutara battle, in this case there was no first round :)
But the ships will get some damages in the final fight.

I was gonna point out that the Reliant should be the one following the Enterprise, but that comment just makes me want to see this finished even more! :D

What, and miss the part where Saavik learns "why things work on a starship." ;)
