    Have you modelled the interior of the compactor and the compacting mechanism yet? Also, if you post the head/neck, I will produce the funniest star trek battle scene ever (with you credited of coarse). Just a little incentive.

    Hi Randy, no not yet, but I will, I got some studio sketches of that as well,
    Wall-E is actually pretty complex.
    And in real life not everything can work like in the movie, that would create a lot of intersecting components, but I'll take it as far as it goes

    The biggest problem I've been able to imagine is when WALL-E is closed up completely, his trucks are actually inside the compactor space, which would require some strange and complex moving parts in that area.

    Indeed, also when the tracks are stowed, the connecting parts don't have any room left.
    And, the solar panels actually can't lower that far into the top without intersecting with the retracting parts of the arms, so that will also be a challenge to workout.
    What I'll do is simply hide those parts of the panel that intersect when stowed, that's what Pixar did anyway ;)
