Well hello again. Am back Online and starting over(again)

Here is the prelude to my (learn as I go upcoming epic space battle scene)
and I loved the Original series since first airing. <<< must be an old guy
Next video will tie into this one. Finally I will get to try and learn how to
DESTROY Things.

---I know this has been done over and over and probably is old, passe but I don't care. I am a old newb.(cherry) and in process of learning.
When I do a video, I try to make it something other than, look at this, or see this kinda thing.
Try to give it a purpose or story, a reason for being a video.:-)

This part is done, is prelude opening intro to next part.

(Sux I had some good sound sites(hard to find ones,1 was actually a college, for these bookmarked and lost and cannot relocate.)

Marks my first use of Mograph and Spline animation.

Enjoy!

NOTE:
My many thanks to all those that make, write and post Tutorials and also
to those that share their great efforts and work. I know why you do it
because I do it too, or am trying, learning.

Personal Note:
Xmas eve 12:04 AM I suffered A Viral Attack that cost me all I have made since starting C4d 3d. since I only began in October. Which was quite a loss for me. Then got it again Jan 2. bye bye AVG 9.0 and take the paid lic. with ya lol. (sorry for the slam- but it is also a warning)
I mean in 4.5 years I suffered 1 infection, then I get this and bam I am hit 2 x
in 8 days? nasty buggers fatal error to hard drive.Live and learn

    I like it!
It's nice to see some old school BSG stuff being done. I look forward to updates. Just the theme song alone is epic.

Nice work, I really liked the scene with the Cylon fighter formation, it brought back good memories. :)

Just one question, why does the frame rate drop in some areas?
  • Randal RRandal R0 Posts: 0Member
Well, to my knowledge all of it was 24 fps except the 2 clips with the firetrail which were 30 fps.

I am new at animation and still trying to learn and get a feel for it. It may be that some clips I render to avi and the large long render times I used PNG sequence so as to have a restore point if anything happened during render.

Also, I cant see it in real time till its rendered-need a new more powerful comp w more/RAM(am on an 8 yr old Dell desktop P4.

on the actual crossfire sequences those were all on splines and rated pretty much equally. May also be that I stretched or compressed some clips
    in Editor.

maybe tell me which part in which you are speaking of, the satellite shot was frakked up, tried doing a highspeed zoom.
IF it is playback you refer too, may be it is net, forum link. Some forums I noticed -for EX:
on 1 forum I know of, Youtube plays back with stutters while others do not.

Here is the youtube link for it and see if it helps.

There are a few places, but it's very noticeable at 1:06 after the viper is destroyed and the moon pans out of shot.
