hello all I did get a bit sentimental in the begining of this week and started modeling Baloo's heart in the Disneys cartoon series Tailspin the L-16 transport or also known as the Sea Duck.
I think you mean the pontoon's that are under the wings instead of catamarans. to be correct would this plane fall under the name trimaran since it has three parts that lays in the water and not two as the catamarans have.
anyway the pontoons is just there for stabilitation of the aircraft the major flote part is the airplane body so the pontoon's don't have to be that big in size so i think that the airplane is into scale on them but that is only a guess. I am more thought in aircraft designs that don't land on water
still thank you all for the kind respons on the airplane
ahh that plane brings back memories.... now all's you need is the over drive button and the after burner ports on the engines the next thing needed after that is the pirate air ship... or barge in the sky as i like to think of it

Looking good!
They are, but it matches how they were seen in the cartoon very well.
