Thanx Lizzy777. Utility vehicles... not a biggy. Loaders... not too much of a biggy there. Another ship... a day or two. Heavy machinery... doable. Okay, thanks, I should have another post up in a day or two.
All right folks a close up of those forklifts for any one concerned. And yes, I k-now they are a little i guess retro is the word. But they're still not finished, I modeled them after an older (1980's) style of forklift. I have to finish futurfying them.
Now that I have some more time to post. Fork Lifts are good (I did notice them in the first image). I was thinking of something like the exoskeleton loader from ALIEN. Utility vehicles could be like the "Follow Me" carts at Airfields, tool trucks, etc.
@ Lizzy777: Robotic forklift drivers come to mind after your last post. Now as far as ALIEN type loaders, I thought of it, but though they make for great sci-fi they seem too impractical for any real world use to me. But I'll what I can come up with.
@ Dr. Lee: Thanx. :thumb:
Well I started on a second ship for the loading bay and got carried away. And seeing as how this one wouldn't possibly be able to fit in there, I'll have to start again. But since it's already made, I'll just post it anyhow. I'll get back to it later...
Here's one of the other ships I'm going to use for the loading bay (scenes). :thumb:
I call it an l-c-t (low-orbit cargo transport), it's a heavy-duty-one-man transport/hauler and its primary function is simple. It's designed to transport cargo and equipment back and forth, from the surface to a low orbit, as well as between orbital stations and platforms. It can also transport cargo and equipment between ships and or facilities that are out in space, as long as it's not too great of a distance, and as long as it, (the l-c-t) doesn't have to brake orbit, because it can't.
Finally got back to it today. Just a minor update though. Will be working on it for the rest of the evening. And thanx Ice Dragon, really appreciate the comments. I just popped over to you BSG thread, and all I can say is, WOW!!!, great stuff. That is one hell of a fleet! You can start the show over again by yourself. :thumb:
Mel want to know what you did to his ship and Jane has an itchy trigger finger...:flippy::devil:
Seriously cool work with this little ship of yours Hundred!
Alright folks, here's the latest incarnation of this little ship. took me all morning yesterday to think out a usable design. I just wasn't feeling the last look. :thumb:
nice looking car, the main crit I got is that how meshsmoothed parts connect, the gaps are made to look bigger than they really are because they sort of curn in (did that make any sense?)
Thanx for the C&C Berkut, and it made perfect sense. :thumb: In fact that's what I meant about it being sloppy. This aught to be a slight bit better. I'm still working out the shape in my head. Thanx again. :thumb:
Thanx MarkyD appreciate it much... I also added a rough image of the alternate hood (bonnet)you mentioned.
Still got quite a bit to do to it, rims, tires, alter the mirrors, textures, interior, etc.. Then I'll tighten up all the joints around the windows. But all-in-all it was a pretty cool and easy model to work on. :thumb:

Other than that, things look pretty good so far!

Oh! And robots! Gotta have robots.

Agreed.

Now, I'm off to tweak the design.
NOTE: I've got to change those nacelle pylons.
Suggestions please?

And, I know it's sloppy now, but it should look better in a a day or two.
Just a little bit more for today people, have to get back to texturing the little glass pod. Be back at this one later tomorrow. :thumb:
