Looking for some feedback on the general shape of this design.
The detailing and greebles are a long way off, but it's the same manufacturer as Lor, but approximately 1/3 the size.
Comments?

I am not going to lie. This thing is one ugly duckling, but it works for the most part, the only thing that bothers me is the depression in the "nose" of it. Is that going to act like a socket for some monstrous ball turret?

I like it. It has a VERY strong shape and it doesn't come off as "from" anything else other than your previous work, which is awesome.

i've been changing the engine structure, and i'm currently still, working on making the rear structure less fallic :D

As for the depression, it's just part of the shape :)

I saw your new models you posted recently so i know this will end up amazing too, just one question though your finished renders, are they 100% render including windows and lighting or do you achieve your results with some post production? Just curious?
Your ships wouldnt look out of place in the EVE universe either good job!

100% just lighting and geometry, ie the station I made a while ago.

    More updates... (time for sleep...)

I reckon one more 24 stint should do it.

nice. What are your plans for the front.

great art. I like the basic shape ..

but besides that, what role is this ship for ?
i recognize engines ... many engines... is it engines ? or are those weapon-systems ?
(as far as i can see they are pointes backwards :D )

looks as there isn't much space besides the engines so .. what is onboard, or is this a fighter-scale craft ?

    want to see more

It's primary role is as an armoured defensive platform. Secondary role is drone/nanite carrier/controller and it's size class is battlecruiser, 1km in diameter. Basically, it's a mobile wall of armour, used by fleets as line of sight cover.

Your correct they are engines, i'll be adding some point defence weapon system hardpoints on the next stint.

    Updates...

Still some errors to the front mesh which i'll sort out soon enough, and i'm also looking at refining the scale of some elements to properly define the ships scale (1km).

    About 80% there... woop! :p

Well, those blue/white lights are engines, if you consider which side has the most of them hopefully you could infer the primary direction of travel, but this is space, there's no up or down etc etc

The reason it's designed as it is is due to it's role, it's a wall of armour, fleet commanders can position to use as mobile cover for units less durable. As it's armour instead of shields, it's harder to disable and doesn't require energy to activate. It's a philosophy that carries throughout that particular line of ships and can also be seen in action in it's bigger, older brother Lor. :)

    Test shape mock ups.

This actual mesh probably won't be in the final model, it's just a demonstration of the shape of the ship.

    It's the Agni

It's suppost to be a 200m-300m long assault cruiser. Cruisers in CoS are like short - mid range maurders, usually have 1-2 human crew. Assault roles emphasis firepower over speed and defensive capiblities, providing a specialised weapons platform. The top wing thingy as well as thruster clusters would probably house some turret mounts, with a main plasma lance placed in the center.

It's a bit of a departure from the original concept below, but I seem to prefer these proportions.

Any comments on the shape? (remember this is an alpha model)

    4 hours later...

I dropped the wings, i'll be adding turret enbankments later but I tryed to first make a chassy that I could overay the armour.. Alot of work yet to do but it looks kinda promising :D

    Day 2 of modelling.

    14 hours later....

I've still got to shot out the rear, the main cannon array and details. 1 1/2 days left I reckon.

I'm not 100% sure about the scale of the details towards the front of the ship, and theres a few errors at in the engine block. beyond that, any comments?
