Hi all,

It has been a long time since my last post, due to work and other projects non scifi, I hope to see some old friends still posting here!
I'm working on a new private project Wall-E, here is a start, I hope you like it.
Final texturing will be done once Wall-E is completely dressed up

That's... Amazing! Are you actually modeling this model piece by piece in Solidworks and assembling it there as if it were an actual engineering project?

    Thanks so much guys!!

    Hi VASIMR, yes I am

0oooo cant wait! Im glad your doing this, you'll do it justice!

That's insane, but really cool. Are you just doing that for ease of modeling (I would figure that it would be easier to model/position something like this in parametric engineering software), or does this project involve actually fabricating the individual pieces?

Excellent start. I would expect no less from you. ;)

    Great stuff!

I don't think I remember who you are, and from the look of your first picture on this, I imagine I would have spent some time bowing down at your feet and generally gurgling. That's a pretty good start... I'm a pretty good understater.

nico-r44 good to see you posting here again mate.

If Wall-E going to be like your other projects here I know it going to be mind blowing great.

I am deeply envious... and extremely glad that someone is finally doing this. I wanted to, but I'm realistic enough to know that my skill level is WAY below what's required to do it justice. It looks fantastic so far!

wow, magnificant start, they're so realistic! more please :)

Wooow thanks so much guys for the nice comments! I'm getting a bit shy now ;-)

I will also model those solar panels, as real as I possibly can, and today I started modeling the body, it's not just one part but a lot of separate parts

At this rate, he's going to make the pixar version look cheesy. Brilliant!
  • FreakFreak1088 Posts: 4,361Member
^ would say that is a bit of an understatment. ;)
  • NightShadowNightShadow10 Posts: 0Member
I don't know about all that- Pixar is filled with a bloody lot of talented artists. Nico's work here, though, shows incredible skill and promise.

I love that last render doing wall-e some justice, I love the shinny metal on the 'arms'
  • DannageDannage236 Posts: 634Member
What gets me is the quality of the render output! The mesh-esque shots look nice and show off the clean and smooth modelling but the render output looks like a photo of real world stuff. I appreciate that's either Materials, lighting, fx or a combo of all of em, but it still amazes me.

Yeah, your renders are really photoreal. Are you using Maxwell for renders this time too?
