It might be a smoothing issue. I plan on rebuilding the pylons anyway so I should be able to fix the problem.

Sometimes you can correct that applying the smooth (not meshsmooth) modifier to the mesh, with default parameters. ;)

    UPDATE...
The cardies are coming...the cardies are coming.
I thought it was time to start showing some non federation ships. This one will be based on one of Rutger Warrink's old designs.

As usual just a simple blocking in of shapes.

Surely Cardassian. Good go on that. :thumb:

Nice, it has a kind of mix of styles, partly retro, partly TNG movie era :)
  • XFozzbouteXFozzboute654 Posts: 1,627Member
Cool because that's what I'm going for.

Sweet one. (Or two, since the ship has two nacelles)

    UPDATE...
Not too much work done. Too busy playing Guitar Hero 3.
I decided to add a few more things around the bussard collector. The work isn't final yet. I also added glass to it although you can't see it here.

Another Cardasian ship by Rutger Warrink.
    190-1.jpg
This ship is one that looks a lot like one of the designs in the Generations/First Contact sketch book so I decided to go with it.
    The U.S.S Binge and Purge.

Looks nice. The last image looks like a Sovereign-class.
  • StarshipStarship464 São Paulo - BrasilPosts: 1,976Member
    Looks fine friend.:)
Suggestion: the actual shape of the bussards is a bit strange. I suggest you to do a negative extrusion, inset, apply a positive extrusion and, later, round the edges. ;) Excuse me if my explanation is confused. My english isn´t that good. :D Let me know if you need a quick drawing.;)

Haven't a clue what you are talking about.
Has nothing to do with your english.
    I'm just stupid.:D

Well, starship, the Bussards of which ship anyway?

If it has nothing to do with my english, then itA’s cause my poor vocabulary, IA’m sure. I could explain it much better in portuguese...
Anyway, here it goes what IA’m talking about. Made in the last edition of paintbrush.:D

The bussard is something like a canopy, and sits in a smoothed depression over the naceles front. Explained better?;)

guitar hero is addicting isnt it!? haha ill probably spend the rest of my life trying to beat through the fire and flames on expert. lol this model is coming out really cool though i agree with what i think starship is saying. the bussards would be better if they bubbled out a bit instead of being generally flat. otherwise, freakin awesome :)

    Hm! Starship found a point.

@Starship: Don't worry. We non-native English speakers are all just learners.

I know this isn't what was being tosseed around but I'm very happy with this version.

The Federation civil war idea is daft.

    Nice designs though.

I'm really liking this ship. I wasn't too sold on it at first because of the boat hull but I can't wait to see what you do with that part, seeing what you've done so far is impressive.

Not really, it's kind of inevitable that with more mixing of different cultures comes more instability.

isnt the Maquis technically the rouge federation? with many who dont believe in what the federation are doing leaving to join the Maquis

NcShcu - "Not really, it's kind of inevitable that with more mixing of different cultures comes more instability."

Does that explain why the world today is a complete mess. LOL :)

Oh I am working on more alien ships.

    Thank you.

I wouldn't call them a rouge Federation because they were made up of mostly civilians not working to benefit the Federation. Plus this involves section 31.
Does that explain why the world today is a complete mess. LOL
    Let's not get into that.:D

    UPDATE...
Here we have a few panel lines on the hull. And an addjustment to the shuttle bay. I moved the door a little bit forward, I thought it was to far back. Just one more thing I'll have to do an interior for. :D
    196-1.jpg
And here we have the windows for the botanical garden.

Looking good, though you need to sort out that shading problem :)

Second image looks very Christmasy :) I would have thought you'd have put such a deck where there was more ceiling height?

That's the obvious indication that in space, every date is delayed much. ;)
