Whoa...more detail than I've ever gone into ... guess I need to work on that.

    :D

It's not that hard. Just a matter of my computer keeping up and not choking on it.

    UPDATE...
I rebuilt the impulse engine. I added more segments and a lip in the inside of it. I also chamfered all the edges. This is done, except for textures.

Sounds to me like I need to get me a new computer...then take the one I'm using now to the Fort Carson firing range and have some GIs blow the hell out of it.:D

Right now, I have no alternative but to go rather low-poly just to keep my computer from locking up on me.

hey fozz is there a tut for the lighting effect for the warp grids and impulse engines. The light behind thingy?
By the way this ship is blowing my mind. I vote for 6 stars!

It's just lighting I came up with.
The blue light isn't the warp glow. I use a blue light opposite of my main light because it's a warm light. I like the way the warm main light looks with the cold blue light opposite it.

    UPDATE...
The airlock is finished. All I have to do are some small bevels.

    How does it open?

Those round impulse engines are sexy! I like the door so far too, but how does it open?
  • yeh how swing?
  • XFozzbouteXFozzboute654 Posts: 1,627Member
    Good question.
I didn't give it much thought actually, I just wanted it to look good. :D
I think maybe there's an off center hinge that lets the door swing inward. I think. :D

How about sliding down? :) That's about the place it looks like there's clearance for that much door to fit.

    Good Idea!!!!!:thumb::flippy:

Personally I'm not to crazy about that idea. Since I didn't build the door to open I don't think it matters too much. Not to me anyway.

    Well, that works too. :D

    UPDATE...
Some work on the reactor thingies.
    152.jpg
    153.jpg
I started to put Reaction Control Thrusters on the bottom of the bridge. I've also figured out that there is no way for anyone to get out of this thing when it seperates from the main ship. I think there could be a hatch in the bottom of the turbo lift. I'm also gonna redo the impulse engine because I don't think it needs to be that big. I'll need room for landing pads and a docking mechanism.

    UPDATE...
A few more pics to end the night.
The RCTs are done. I remade the impulse engines in either two scoops...

    or one.

I'd go with that version... only a bit smaller. :)
  • AresiusAresius359 Posts: 4,171Member
I'd second ST-One, this fits better. But if you want to do a separate version, then the twin-pod-version.

    Looks sweet.

Inspired by the Vulcan Shuttle from the movie? :D
Looks good friend! I vote for the solitaire rounded impulse egine. ;)
  • kborakkborak1 Posts: 0Member
yeah I like single pod personally

    UPDATE...
Not really. I just decided to rethink the entire bottom. I'll put a hatch on the side of the conference room. Another change to the impulse engines. These might go through another change. Ideas for landing pads and random crap. Somewhere in there will be docking clamps to reattach the bridge the the ship.

How about the landing pads are clamps as well as landing pads?
  • XFozzbouteXFozzboute654 Posts: 1,627Member
That's actually a good idea. I'll see if I can get that to work.
  • kborakkborak1 Posts: 0Member
Now I think the bridge looks more the likes of a runabout. And the small impulse engine will definitely look better.
  • XFozzbouteXFozzboute654 Posts: 1,627Member
    UPDATE...
New impulse engine is in place. The landing pad/docking clamps are blocked in and the turbo lift is getting some detail.
    160-1.jpg
I decided to make the inside of the tubo lift. This is the start of it.

Will your turbolifts double as lifepods?
  • XFozzbouteXFozzboute654 Posts: 1,627Member
    I don't know yet. But I don't think so.
